Misdemeanors

Misdemeanors are a type of criminal charge. Misdemeanor charges may follow a less serious criminal offense than a felony in the state of Connecticut, but a misdemeanor can include a penalty of up to one year in a county jail. There are three classes of misdemeanors, so the penalty will differ depending on the class of the offense. Misdemeanors can range from motor vehicle violations, traffic violations, criminal misdemeanors, etc. As with any other criminal offense, it is vital to contact an attorney as soon as possible.
